What this is

A Cart IoT app customer can add up to three people — a family member, a neighbor, a property manager — as alert contacts for a golf cart. If the cart's CHARGER SAFETY™ charging controller reports a high temperature in the battery well, those people get a text. Nobody is texted unless they personally opt in first.

How you opt in

  1. The cart owner picks you individually from their phone's contacts in the Cart IoT app (one person at a time — there is no list import) and confirms you've already agreed to be added.
  2. You receive one invitation text from +1 866-253-8220. It is the only message you get unless you reply YES. Invitations expire after 7 days and are never re-sent automatically.
  3. Opting in is optional. If you do nothing, you never hear from us about that cart. If you reply YES, we send one confirmation and you're enrolled.

Cart IoT: Roy added you as an alert contact for golf cart "Beach Cart". Reply YES to receive high temperature alert texts for this cart. This is optional — nothing else is sent unless you reply YES. Texts are rare, max 6/day. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Terms & privacy: cartiot.com/sms

What you'll receive

  • One confirmation text when you opt in.
  • A high temperature alert text for that cart, only when its charging controller reports a high temperature. Rare. Maximum 6 texts per day.
  • Nothing else — no marketing, no promotions, no other products.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

How to stop

Reply STOP at any time and you're removed immediately. Reply HELP for help or email [email protected]. The cart owner can also remove you in the app.

Your number and your consent

Cart IoT does not share, sell, rent, or transfer your phone number, your opt-in status, or any messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates. Your consent applies only to alert texts for the cart you were invited to. Nobody receives any incentive for adding an alert contact.

What these alerts are not

Alerts can be delayed or missed. The CHARGER SAFETY™ charging controller is a charging controller with supplemental monitoring. It is not a smoke detector, fire alarm, or life safety device of any kind. If there is smoke or fire, call 911.
